These Terms govern all purchases made via the online store at joannabird.com. By placing an order, you confirm you are at least 18 years old and authorised to use the chosen payment method.
3) Products and Descriptions
We aim for accuracy in images, dimensions, materials, and descriptions. Minor variations may occur, especially for handcrafted works and editions. Colours may vary due to device display settings. Measurements are approximate unless expressly stated otherwise. Availability is subject to change. We may refuse or cancel an order if an item is unavailable, mispriced, or listed with an error; any payment taken will be refunded.
4) Pricing, Taxes, and Duties
Prices are shown in GBP unless otherwise indicated and may change without notice. UK orders: Prices include VAT where applicable. International orders: Local taxes, duties, brokerage, and import fees may be charged by the destination country and are the responsibility of the recipient.
5) Payment
We accept major credit/debit cards and Apple/Google Pay. Bank transfer may be arranged on request—contact info@joannabird.com before purchase. Payment is taken at checkout. For bank transfer, the order is confirmed on receipt of cleared funds within the specified timeframe. We use third‑party payment processors; your payment data is handled according to their security standards.
6) Orders and Contract Formation
Your order is an offer to buy. We will send an order acknowledgement email; acceptance occurs when we email a dispatch confirmation, forming a contract. We may decline an order (e.g., stock issues, pricing errors, verification failure). Any amounts paid will be refunded.
7) Shipping, Insurance, and Risk
Shipping: We ship worldwide via reputable fine‑art carriers. Options and costs are shown at checkout or quoted by email. Dispatch: Typical dispatch is 3–7 working days, subject to artwork availability, framing, and export documentation. Insurance: All shipments are fully insured from dispatch to delivery. Risk/title: Risk passes on delivery to the shipping address or to you/your agent upon collection. Title passes upon receipt of full cleared payment.
8) Delivery, Delay, and Force Majeure
Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by customs, carriers, weather, strikes, or events beyond our control. If delivery issues arise, contact info@joannabird.com and we will assist with the carrier/insurer as appropriate.
9) Inspection on Delivery and Damage
Please inspect the packaging and artwork on delivery. If an item arrives damaged or incorrect, email info@joannabird.com within 48 hours with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the packaging and the item. Because shipping is fully insured, we will guide you through next steps (assessment, claim, repair, replacement, or refund as applicable).
10) Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations
Change‑of‑mind returns and refunds are not accepted. Faulty/damaged on arrival: Contact us within 48 hours as above. We will remedy in line with applicable consumer laws and our insurance process. Order changes/cancellation: Contact info@joannabird.com as soon as possible. If the order has not shipped and work has not commenced on framing or customs paperwork, we may be able to amend or cancel at our discretion.
11) Collections from the Gallery
Collection is by appointment only. Bring photo ID and your order confirmation. Risk transfers upon handover at the gallery.
12) Framing and Special Services
Where framing or custom services are requested, additional lead times and costs will apply. Customised items may not be cancellable once work begins.
13) Certificates and Provenance
Where applicable, artworks are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity or gallery documentation. Keep these documents safe; replacements may not be available.
14) International Compliance
You are responsible for ensuring that the import of the artwork complies with local laws and that any required permits or certifications (e.g., CITES, cultural heritage controls) are in place. We can advise and help arrange documentation; additional time and charges may apply.
15) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim related to your order is limited to the amount paid for the relevant item. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
16) Intellectual Property
All content on joannabird.com (images, text, logos) is owned by or licensed to Joanna Bird Gallery. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use content without permission. Copyright in the artworks remains with the artist or rights holder.
17) Privacy and Data Protection

18) Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions
We may request identification or additional information to comply with AML and sanctions regulations. We may cancel orders where compliance cannot be satisfied, issuing refunds where legally permitted.
19) Errors and Corrections
We reserve the right to correct typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and to change or update information at any time without prior notice, including after an order is placed, where the change is necessary and lawful.
